MONTREAL - A phalanx of municipal politicians seeking re-election Tuesday sketched out a redevelopment plan for a long-deteriorated patch of 4 million square feet of land in the geographic centre of Montreal Island.

The site – just east of the Orange Julep along the Décarie Expressway – will become a showcase for sustainable development and the site of 3,200 private residences by 2019.
