Cnadian Federal Election -- The Bloc Strategy In Quebec

Bloc Not Taking Anything For Granted In Expected Election:
Duceppe -- CBC

Bloc Québécois Leader Gilles Duceppe said Friday his party is not taking anything for granted in Quebec just days before a likely federal election call.

But the sovereigntist leader maintains the Bloc is still in the best position to beat the Conservatives in Quebec.

Duceppe said he is not intimidated by Tory plans to have former New Brunswick premier Bernard Lord campaign with Quebec Conservatives.

However, he said if Lord wants to really participate in the campaign he should become a candidate.

Duceppe is meeting with organizers to prepare for the election, which is expected to be called Sunday.

So far the Bloc has chosen 68 of its 75 Quebec candidates.
