High-Speed Rail Needs Fast Action

If Canadian politicians were half as swift as the high-speed rail they profess to love, we'd have built a system decades ago.
Instead, we have nothing to show for 35 years of feasibility reports but the promise of yet another.
But who's keeping score? Although no one would complain that the premiers of Ontario and Quebec want to explore the possibilities of a high-speed link that would connect Windsor, Toronto, Montreal and Quebec City, the only answers we don't have are "Who pays?" and "How much?"
The technology has existed for years, so that part of things is relatively straightforward. The real problem, as always, is lack of political leadership.
