MONTREAL – A woman admitted to the Royal Victoria Hospital for an induced birth was forced into a do-it-yourself delivery with only her non-medically-trained common-law partner to assist, just after 5 a.m. May 13.
A hospital medical official said Wednesday that an investigation is under way into the chain of events.
“We’re taking it very seriously,” Dr. Matt Kalina, assistant director for professional services at the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC), added during an interview.
