Colorado rookie Ryan O’Reilly was a one-man wrecking crew on the series which provided the Colorado Avalanche with a 3-2 victory over the Canadiens Thursday night.
O’Reilly slammed Scott Gomez into the end boards to the side of the Canadiens’ net and, while the fans were screaming for a penalty, O’Reilly was in position to pick up the loose puck from the scrum which ensued. Canadiens goaltender Carey Price made the stop on O’Reilly’s initial shot but he left a rebound and O’Reilly notched his first NHL goal at 13:47.
