Bruins Draw First Blood With 4-2 Win -- The Montreal Gazette
BOSTON – The Canadiens put together a strong effort Thursday night, but coach Bob Gainey said he would like to see his team play even better in Game 2 on Saturday.
“I’d like to see us be ahead rather than just catching up,” Gainey said after Zdeno Chara’s power-play goal at 11:15 of the third period lifted the Boston Bruins to a 4-2 win over the Canadiens in Game 1 of their best-of-seven Eastern Conference quarterfinal series.
