Spotted: The first pristine white snowdrops pushing through the dirt, and clusters of yellow and purple crocuses, yet to open, dotted among the newly green grass.
One Montrealer heard a red-breasted robin - Turdus migratorius - singing his heart out early Thursday morning, the day we smashed the record for the warmest April 2.
The shorts came out when the mercury climbed to 15.5 Celsius, beating the high of 14.8C, set in 1988.
