Concordia University and the city’s downtown Ville-Marie borough have, together, quietly pulled the plug on what the university had called the “Greening of Mackay” St.
The plan had been to eliminate 45 parking spaces this summer, on the western side of the city block anchored at de Maisonneuve Blvd. W. by the Henry F. Hall Building, running north to Sherbrooke St. W.
Revelation of the scheme had sparked an instant and visceral uproar among area merchants and residents.
