Les Amis de la Montagne celebrated Mother's Day and Mother Nature with the 18th annual Corvée du Mont-royal clean-up of the mountain.Volunteers were picking up litter, planting trees and cutting invasive species of plants. MONTREAL - More than 300 people gathered on Mount Royal Sunday to help clean up garbage during the annual Mount Royal cleanup day, organized by Les Amis de la Montagne.
Volunteers also planted trees and were treated to an exhibition on birds of prey.
Over the 18 years that the cleanup has been going on, volunteers have planted 5,000 new trees on the mountain.
