It's hard to get good people to run for city hall – here's why.
MONTREAL – Many people are voicing dismay over the quality of the mayoral contenders in this fall’s Montreal election. A real hunger exists for a leader of integrity who can bring élan and a sense of direction to this city. Last week, for example, the Board of Trade sponsored a panel discussion on Jean Drapeau, the last mayor who (for all his faults) possessed those qualities. Will we ever see such a mayor again?

My Comment: We have a sorry lot running for Mayor, and we have no one to blame but ourselves.
