Franchise drops to third place in survey.
EDMONTON — Forbes magazine has released its much-anticipated annual survey of the value of the National Hockey League’s 30 franchises.
The latest Forbes rankings, which reflect data compiled by the U.S. business magazine’s editors for the 2008-2009 NHL season, show the Canadiens, who took the runner-up spot a year ago, have dropped to third place in the latest survey, with an estimated value of $339 million.
