Electricity was expected to be restored by noon Tuesday to most of the 200,000 Quebecers left in the dark and without heat following an incident at a Hydro-Québec facility in northern Quebec earlier in the day.
Those affected by the outage were located on Montreal Island, the South Shore, Quebec City and Trois-Rivières, Hydro-Québec spokesperson Marie-Hélène Deveault said. She said half of the homes left in the dark, or 100,000 clients, were in the Montreal area.
