Growing Unease In The U.S. On Hydro Quebec's Dominance In Electricty
FREDERICTON - An energy expert in the United States says there is growing unease in New England about Hydro-Québec's dominance and control of the region's energy markets.
A new report released Thursday by Gordon Weil, president of the Standard Energy Co., in Maine, says there are significant problems that need to be resolved in the memorandum of understanding for the sale of most of NB Power to Hydro-Québec.

My Comment: Why is no one saying the word ..... MONOPOLY.
Let's face it .... Hydro Quebec is shaping up as a cartel that controls the supply and price of North Eastern American electricity .... the only thing that makes this case unique is that this is a cartel of one. U.S. law is very blunt about this .... it is illegal. But how can U.S. law dictate to a foreign company that its actions are illegal .... especially on this case. I do not know how this can be done ... but I will (still) not be surprise to see court actions initiated in the near future.
