'Technical Problems' Leave Habs Ticket-Seekers Ticked

Frustrated Habs fan Iana Kazakova gave up on buying tickets through the Canadiens franchise yesterday.

With just over a week until the first preseason game, Kazakova and thousands of Canadiens fans were frustrated when the ticket purchasing system shut down yesterday.

"I tried and tried and at first it said it would open at 10 (a.m.), then at 11, then at 11:15. When I clicked on the page, it brought me back to the (Montreal Canadiens) homepage," Kazakova said.

Fans who waited in line at the box office were able to buy tickets, but all those trying to use the phone or Internet were left hanging.

A message on the Canadiens website said that due to "technical problems" sales of individual game tickets for the 2008-2009 season will be postponed until Wed., Sept. 17 at noon.

It was the last straw for Kazakova, who said she'd had difficulty at the start of several seasons trying to buy tickets through the Canadiens franchise. She has resorted to buying tickets through scalpers on eBay.
