Denis Coderre Steps Down As Quebec Lieutenant

Coderre had refused to let former minister Martin Cauchon run as a candidate in Outremont but he was overruled by his leader.

Montreal MP Denis Coderre stepped down Monday as Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff's Quebec lieutenant over a disagreement about the political comeback of one of Coderre's main rivals.

A rift between Ignatieff and Coderre broke open last week over who each thinks the Liberal candidate should be in the Montreal riding of Outremont.

My Comment: This reflects badly on Ignatieff, and is a small indication on how he may govern.
