Nelly Arcan Took Her Own Life, Publisher Confirms

MONTREAL ­ Nelly Arcan, the young Montreal writer who died earlier this week, took her own life, her publisher confirmed Saturday.

Arcan’s body was discovered Thursday inside her home on St. Dominique St. in Plateau Mont Royal. A Montreal police source confirmed Arcan’s death is a matter for the provincial coroner, meaning the possibility of a homicide has been ruled out.
