Out in the collective garden at the corner of Bouchette Ave. and Lavoie St., a couple of its members sat on lawn chairs under the warm September sun last Thursday morning, working – harvesting seeds from coriander planted earlier in the season, now dried, and placing them into small brown envelopes.
Coriander seeds add a fragrant flavour reminiscent of citrus peel to dishes; the seeds could also be stored and replanted next spring to yield new plants.
