Brian Gionta and Maxim Lapierre scored in the second period for the Canadiens as they erased a 2-0 Buffalo advantage.
Canadiens forward Glen Metropolit had a strong game, drawing two assists and bothering Sabres goalie Ryan Miller with his presence in the crease.
