MONTREAL – If Montrealers have learned anything from the water-meter scandal this week, it’s that the political system needs to be overhauled.
That’s the reckoning of some activists who say they’re emboldened by the findings of the city auditor-general in his probe of Montreal’s $355.8-million water-management contract.
The auditor’s 170-page report, released on Monday, called for the city to revoke the contract and overhaul management practices to prevent a repeat episode.

My Comment: This was always the argument that was used by those who were against merging the suburbs into a Greater Montreal .... bigger government always means bigger corruption.
