Quebec Studying Montreal Metro Extension

The Quebec government is launching studies looking at the feasibility of extending Montreal's metro system, Transport Minister Julie Boulet announced Wednesday.
An office with a budget of $12-million will have three years to prepare its report, he said..
Premier Jean Charest and the mayors of Montreal, Longueuil and Laval were on hand for announcement at the Berri-UQAM metro station. The three mayors have proposed an eastbound and southbound extension that would add up to 20 kilometres to the metro system in the next decade.
