Red Fisher: Markov Deserves Habs' Captaincy

MONTREAL – Now that your Canadiens are without a captain, who should wear the ‘C’?

My choice: defenceman Andrei Markov. He’s a special player who goes into the season as the Canadiens’ 2008-09 scoring leader with 12 goals and 52 assists – only one point behind the departed Alex Kovalev. He’s the quarterback on the power play. He competes. Year after year, his game has improved. He’s respected by his colleagues and NHL officials.
