Montreal has had a good recession, at least compared with other big Canadian cities. New estimates from the Conference Board of Canada suggest that it's the only one of the country's three largest metropolitan areas to have avoided a significant slump over the past two years.
Even so, Montreal's economic output is forecast to fall by one per cent this year, wiping out nearly all of its 1.1- per-cent growth in 2008.
