Rangers game looms large for playoffs

The Canadiens’ playoff express hit a detour Monday night as Dany Heatley scored two third-period goals as the Ottawa Senators won 3-2.

The Canadiens were playing without key defencemen Andrei Markov and Mathieu Schneider, but that wasn’t the reason the Canadiens missed a chance to tighten their hold on a playoff spot.

The Canadiens came out of the second period with a 2-1 lead, but head coach Bob Gainey found it difficult to shorten his bench in the final period.
