The Gazette takes to the streets to check out some of the action in the neighbourhoods near the McGill and Concordia campuses.
It's a ritual that plays out every September in Montreal like clockwork.
It starts with a few moving trucks lining the streets. A stray mattress here, a shopping cart filled with frozen pizzas there.
Then popular nightspots begin filling to capacity, and clumps of bewildered freshman suddenly materialize on every street corner - waiting patiently for the "walk" signal to appear.
