Comedy superstar Robin Williams's rare stand-up tour hits Place des Arts Nov. 20
The mouth that roars will finally roar in Montreal. Robin Williams, among the most sought-after stand-ups in the comedy capital that is Montreal and elsewhere on the planet, brings his Weapons of Self-Destruction tour to Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier in Place des Arts on Nov. 20.
This marks Williams's first-ever concert performance in Montreal and his first comedy tour since 2002. Prior to that, Williams, who had been focusing more on his film career, had not undertaken a stand-up tour for 16 years.
His rational for taking to the road now was simple. "It's an election year, which is basically Christmas for stand-up comics," said Williams in a release yesterday. "And I figured I should get my ass on the road while the Shrub is still in office. A lot has happened in the world and in my life since I last did this six years ago and there's no better thrill and no better therapy than getting on that high-wire in front of a live audience."
