Montreal's Canada Day Festivities Will Have A Distinct Flavour

MONTREAL - Organizers of this year’s Canada Day celebration are turning festivities on their head with wakeboarding, parachuting and an international speed soccer competition.

They’re hoping the new activities will help draw big crowds and even bigger smiles.

“It’s going to be unique,” said Jean-Pierre Bélanger, executive director of Celebrations Canada. “We’ve put more money into everything. We’ve made the soccer competition bigger and the night show is going to be a mega-discothèque with a lot of technical effects.”
