MONTREAL – Bring on the bulldozers. The sooner, the better.
With the prospect of a federal election looming ever closer, work will begin within the week on a $120-million plan to decontaminate the Outremont rail yards and redirect all freight traffic to the northern perimeter, the first phase in a billion-dollar campaign to revitalize the sprawling industrial site and give the Université de Montréal room to grow.
