New buses more fuel-efficient. Montreal transit authority satisfied with results of $20-million pilot project
They offer smoother, quieter rides, and now we know hybrid buses are more fuel-efficient in urban settings, where low speeds and frequent stops and starts are the norm.
That means Montreal's downtown core will probably be the first area to get diesel-electric buses when they hit city streets next year.
