Parti Québécois Seeks To Affirm Supremacy Of French

A Parti Québécois policy aimed at reawakening sovereignist fervour calls for a new Bill 101 that affirms the supremacy of the French language in Quebec.

The four-point policy PQ leader Pauline Marois announced Sunday aims at kick-starting the sovereignist movement leading up to the the party's next big convention two years from now.

Yet the program stops short of demanding a wholesale split with the Canadian federation any time soon.
