Deux Montagnes users, CEO meet: New switches, shelters should prevent repeat of winter woes, Gauthier says.

No guarantees, but Montreal's regional train authority last night laid out plans it says will help reduce the chance of a repeat of last winter's chronic delays, cancellations and overcrowding.

"I can't guarantee we won't receive a 50-centimetre snow storm that will mess up the system, but we're working to improve the service," Joël Gauthier, chief executive of the Agence métropolitaine de transport, told reporters before a public meeting for Deux Montagnes line users.
