Here Is What 40 Minutes In One Segment Of The Olympic Torch Run Looks Like

Here is what 40 minutes in one segment of the Olympic torch run looks like:

An hour before start time yesterday, the route through St. Jérôme, a 30-minute drive north of Montreal, is packed with traffic but not people. It's minus 8C with a biting wind. It looks like the run could be a dud, participation-wise.

With 20 minutes to go, the elementary school kids are trundled out. They're wearing snowpants, hats and mitts, closely followed by the high school kids, who are not.

My Comment: I am personally ambivalent on the Olympics .... but the kids clearly love it and for that .... I guess .... makes it worthwhile.
