MONTREAL – The Canadiens are 0-3 against the Pittsburgh Penguins but they are getting closer to the Stanley Cup champions.

After losing 6-1 and 3-1 this season in Pittsburgh, the Canadiens dropped a 3-2 decision Thursday night and came close to earning at least a point.

The Canadiens thought they had a tying goal at 15:08 of the third period when Scott Gomez pushed a loose puck into the goal, but referee Chris Lee waved it off, saying he had blown the play dead.
