The cost of public transit is going up in Montreal on Jan. 1.
A monthly transit pass will cost $70 a month, up $1.50. A reduced fare pass will cost $38.75, instead of $37.
A one-time ticket will stay the same at $2.75, but six tickets will cost $13.25, up from $12.75.
Marvin Rotrand, vice-president of the Montreal Transit Commission, says increasing the fares will pay for an increase in services.
