Historic Birthday Bash For Canadiens

MONTREAL – Together, 384 days earlier, Elmer Lach and Émile (Butch) Bouchard had stood at centre ice for the ceremonial home-opening faceoff of the Canadiens' 100th season. The opponent was the Boston Bruins.

Last night at the Bell Centre, Lach, 92 next month, and Bouchard, 90, met once more at centre ice of the Bell Centre, a few members of the visiting Bruins craning for a look from the tunnel outside their dressing room.
