32nd Ave.. Councillor asking why simple project cost so much.

The roads in Pointe aux Trembles aren't paved with gold, but at the price that Suzanne Décarie's borough just paid to repave a small section of 32nd Ave., the borough councillor says they might as well be.

A 330-metre stretch of 32nd Ave. has cost $897,290 to resurface, despite an initial estimate of $586,489 and a city average that would have put the paving price at $335,200.

The narrow street has no sidewalk and has about five houses and two to four businesses on either side.
