Zampino legacy is soaring costs

When St. Léonard borough split the contracts for administering its parks system into two, the cost jumped by $88,500 a month, borough documents show.

Frank Zampino, borough mayor of St. Léonard and Montreal's executive committee chairperson at the time, quit politics last year and was hired as a senior executive by Dessau, parent company of the firm that was awarded one of the parks contracts.

And Zampino's brother-in-law was hired to run one of the parks operations by the Dessau affiliate.
