Mayor's Race A Dead Heat

And Bergeron seeks police protection.

A new poll pegs the race for Montreal mayor as a statistical dead heat, with Vision Montreal party leader Louise Harel garnering 37 per cent support and Mayor Gérald Tremblay obtaining 36 per cent.

Projet Montréal party leader Richard Bergeron obtained 23 per cent in the poll, conducted for Angus Reid and La Presse on Oct. 14 and Oct. 15, and before an ethics scandal forced Vision Montreal’s second-in-command, Benoit Labonté, to quit the party on Sunday.

My Comment: This is too close to call. But Mayor Tremblay has run a horrible campaign, and even though Louise Harel's party has problems with one of it's key men she has run the better campaign. This is now her election to lose.
