Stay-in-school initiative planned
MONTREAL - Provincial education officials said little yesterday about newly released high school graduation rates showing alarming gaps between girls and boys, public and private schools and those taught in French and English.
The numbers indicate what has been suspected for some time - that the Quebec government's $200-million effort since 2003 to get students to stay in school has failed to make much of a difference.

My Comment: The reason why French schools fail miserably, is that this is where immigrant children who cannot speak either English or French are dumped.
Not speaking and/or understanding the language that is spoken in class will be a downer.
