MONTREAL - Monday is traditionally chef’s day off in the restaurant business. But if you pass by Joe Beef, McKiernan’s or Liverpool House on Notre Dame St. W. on Mondays, you might just spot chef and co-owner Fred Morin hunched over his garden, planting, watering and weeding. And if you dine on the terrasse of Joe Beef you’ll see that garden first hand as it takes up much of the space many restaurateurs would prefer to allot to customers.
