Building Last Inspected in 2000 -- Montreal Gazette
Few problems. No fixed schedule for checking hotels or restaurants.
The building that houses the sushi restaurant on Peel St. where a 33-year-old Montreal woman was fatally crushed by a falling slab of concrete hasn't been inspected by Quebec's building safety watchdog in nine years.
No problems with the building's facade were noted during the March 2000 inspection, and no one had noticed signs of trouble since.
