Jacques Parizeau Is Still Pushing Sovereignty

For Quebec, It's Third Time Lucky, Parizeau Says -- Globe And Mail

Globalization and the trend toward greater centralization of powers in Ottawa will ultimately lead to another referendum on sovereignty, says former Parti Québécois premier Jacques Parizeau.

In a book released yesterday entitled La souveraineté du Québec Hier, aujourd'hui et demain (Quebec Sovereignty Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow), Mr. Parizeau encourages sovereigntists to talk up their cause. Events will dictate when the next vote will be held, but he insists sovereigntists need to prepare arguments now to convince people of the need for Quebec independence.

My Comment: There must be times in which he realizes the hopelessness of the whole affair .... but he still plugs on.
