MONTREAL – It’s difficult to stop Alexander Ovechkin but the Canadiens did their best to contain the Russian superstar and his offensive-minded teammates Saturday night before losing 4-3 in a shootout.
Niklas Backstrom, the third Washington shooter, scored the only goal in the shootout to spoil a strong effort from Carey Price and the undermanned Canadiens.
