Cracks seen in Montreal hotel from which concrete slab fell

MONTREAL — The woman killed when a concrete slab fell from a hotel and hit her as she celebrated her birthday had specifically requested her spot in a Montreal sushi restaurant, her colleague said Friday.

Suzanne Carrier said Lea Guilbeault, 33, was a strong person who always knew what she wanted.

"We heard that she asked for that specific table at the restaurant," she said. "That describes her perfectly, that's what she was like."
