Sewage Sends Business Down The Drain

Summertime on the Lachine Canal: boating, cycling, ice cream - and fecal coliform?

Parks Canada ordered businesses on the canal to close Wednesday night after raw sewage from an underground collector overflowed into the historic waterway.

The city has been diverting sewage into the canal for years, and didn't stop when the canal reopened to recreational boating in 2002.
