Laval Police Find Explosives In Victim's Home

MONTREAL, QUE.: JULY 14, 2009 -- Officers are seen carrying bags as they leave the house in Chomedey Laval where a large quantity of explosives were found on Tuesday. 'Sizable' cache; Former notary faces charges in brutal kidnapping.

Police recovered a "sizable amount" of explosives from a house in Laval while investigating an attempted murder in the city's Chomedey district.

Laval police Constable Nathalie Lorrain said the explosives were discovered inside the house, on Lévesque Blvd. W., yesterday afternoon, after investigators obtained a warrant to search the house where the 39-year-old victim of the attempted murder was residing. He was shot Monday afternoon after parking his car at the house.
