Mandatory Drivers' Ed Reinstated In Quebec

Earning a driver's license is about to get tougher in Quebec.

Starting this fall, driving lessons will once again be mandatory.

Students will have to spend 24 hours reviewing theory and 15 hours on the road with an instructor.

The auto insurance board hopes it will help new drivers understand the dangers of speed and alcohol.

Right now people can shave four months off of their learner's permit if they take a driver's education course.
