Combat Sport Fights For It's Life In Montreal

The Ultimate Fighting Championship match in Montreal may get shut down by Quebec's liquor and gaming board.

"The regulation in Quebec does not allow hitting with elbows and knees," says Réjean Thériault, spokesperson with the board. "They have to follow the law."

The Ultimate Fighting Championship is a mixture of boxing, kickboxing, wrestling, and other marshal arts. It has gained a reputation for violence because it allows moves like kneeing an opponent in the head, or kicking a fighter when he's lying down.
