Game 63: Habs Edge Sharks To Extend Streak -- Montreal Gazette

There’s only one man to thank for the Canadiens’ current four-game winning streak – goaltender Jaroslav Halak.

The 23-year-old Slovak weathered a 48-shot barrage last night as the Canadiens edged the Western Conference-leading San Jose Sharks, 3-2.

Halak was given a chance to play because Carey Price is struggling. Coach Guy Carbonneau said he’ll stick with the hot hand and that belongs to Halak.

He has won four in a row with a 1.98 goals-against average and a .952 save percentage.
