Montreal World Film Festival Kicks Off

The circus comes to town when the 33rd Montreal World Film Festival (WFF) opens for business Thursday, Aug. 27.

And it’s not simply the three-ring fever that accompanies an event trying to stuff about 450 films from 78 countries into four venues in 12 short days and nights, until Sept. 7. Or the air of barely managed confusion that has come to surround the WFF over the years.
