Police Arrest Husband, 23rd homicide

Police received a call at 1:10 a.m. Wednesday and found a 37 year old woman in her home who had suffered upper body injuries in an apparent case of conjugal violence and was pronounced dead on the scene. MONTREAL--Police have arrested a 41-year-old man, the victim's husband, in connection with a homicide early Thursday morning in St. Michel. The man, who police had originally described as “an important witness,” will appear in court today on charges of first-degree murder.

He was inside the home on 21st Ave. near Crémazie Blvd. E. when police arrived around 1 a.m. Wednesday and discovered a woman’s lifeless body. "It has the appearance of a domestic dispute," said Constable Olivier Lapointe of Montreal police Wednesday.
